View for the C-Suite: the IAA Leadership Conference
View for the C-Suite – the Investment Adviser Association's 2019 Leadership Conference – takes place in Nashville on September 25-27. The conference brings together executives from investment advisory firms across the nation and provides a special opportunity to explore industry trends, exchange ideas, and develop valued relationships with IAA members and other SEC-registered investment advisers. The program is designed to address the biggest challenges facing investment advisers, featuring nationally known speakers at the top of their fields. Arguably the most popular feature of the conference has been its breakout sessions, where executives can join colleagues who are from similar firms or who share similar business interests, to discuss – with industry experts and with one another – the issues that challenge them.
Joining our speakers roster this year is economist Dr. Arthur B. Laffer, founder and chairman of the institutional economic research and consulting firm Laffer Associates and Laffer Investments, an institutional investment management firm. Known as the "Father of Supply-Side Economics," Dr. Laffer was a member of President Reagan’s Economic Policy Advisory Board, served on the Reagan/Bush Campaign Finance Committee and advised Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on fiscal policy in the U.K. during the 1980s. He has been widely acknowledged for his achievements in the world of economics, and was heralded as one of “The Century’s Greatest Minds” by Time Magazine in 1999 for inventing the Laffer Curve. Other speakers this year include FOLIOfn Founder and CEO and former SEC Commissioner Steven M.H. Wallman; Bailard President Preston R. Sargent; Ariel Investments Senior Vice President Bonnie E. Orlowski; Fidelity Investments Senior Director Debbie Noury; Optima Group President Kenneth R. Hoffman; CAPTRUST Chief Operating Officer Ben Goldstein; Affiliated Managers Group Senior Policy Advisor and IAA Board Chair Christine Carsman, and many more.
Our 2019 Conference Agenda will address a wide range of topics important to investment adviser executives, including:
